Andrew Marshall crowned the 2025 Woolworths Tasmanian Young Farmer of the Year

Rural Youth Tasmania is delighted to announce that Andrew Marshall of Oldina has been crowned the 2025 Woolworths Tasmanian Young Farmer of the Year, following an exciting Grand Final competition held at Quercus Park on Saturday, 23 August.

 

Ten talented finalists battled it out across a series of challenging modules, testing their practical farming skills, agricultural knowledge, and problem-solving ability. The final rounds — Quiz and Public Speaking — took place at the Official Dinner, where the winner was revealed to an enthusiastic audience.

 

2025 Winners:

  1. Andrew Marshall – Oldina
  2. Zac Leonard – Relbia
  3. Chelsea Rayner – Lower Beulah
  4. Charlton Skirving – Sheffield
  5. Sarah O’Grady – Kindred

 

This year’s competition offered a total prize pool of more than $50,000.  Andrew secured the major prize package valued at $20,000, which included a Polaris Ranger SP 530.

 

Rural Youth Tasmania State President, Amber Bramich, expressed her gratitude to the event’s valued sponsors: Allgoods, Australian Chainsaw Products, Gaffney Machinery, Koppers, Meander Valley Council, Midland Tractors, Polaris, Prokut, Tas Petroleum, Tasweld, Total Tools, Whites Group, and naming rights sponsor Woolworths.

 

“The talent and passion demonstrated by this year’s finalists was outstanding, however, Andrew was a strong competitor who stood out to the judges as an exemplary entrant and worthy winner,” said Ms Bramich.

 

“The 2025 Woolworths Tasmanian Young Farmer of the Year Competition is not just a contest—it’s a celebration of the innovation, resilience, and community spirit that young farmers bring to our industry.”

 

The Woolworths Tasmanian Young Farmer of the Year Competition continues to inspire and support the next generation of agricultural leaders, showcasing the strength and future of farming in Tasmania.
