The Tasmanian Young Farmer of the Year Competition is open to any Tasmanian aged between 15 and 30 not just Rural Youth Members.
For the past few years the prize pool sat at over $40,000!
The first stage of the competition is the Run-Offs. During the Run-Offs, Competitors compete in a range of activities, many of them based around tasks or jobs regularly completed on a farm, scoring points along the way.
From the Run-Offs, the highest 10 point scorers qualify for the Finals. Competitors in the State Final will compete in 10 modules throughout the day, with the top 4 competitors to participate in the final two modules, Quiz and Public Speaking, at the Tasmanian Young Farmer Dinner held in the evening.
The highest point scorer from the State Final is announced the Tasmanian Young Farmer of the Year!
